Hi,

I got an 06 Civic OEM Navigation unit from my friend. Its size is standard 2-DIN. I'd like to install the unit to my 99' Accord which has 2-DIN slot, but I don't have any harness or wire. It doesn't have GPS antenna either. I guess I need those wires as well as some wire diagrams to install the unit. Where can I find the harness and wires?

Any advices would be very much appreciated!

You may be able to find them at an auto wrecker or from Honda themselves. Otherwise, your best bet is to try to remove the harness from the vehicle it came out of seeing that the vehicle doesn't need it anymore.

I believe you're going to have a hard time tying that in to your car, but it may be possible.  Todays typical navi unit ties in to the can bus and without that connection it may not operate normally.  I have a newer VW 'command center' that won't do anything outside if the car since all the other modules on the node are not present.

If you can't get it to work and want to sell it let me know, I've been looking for to play around with!  :)

For the harnesses you can try the Honda dealership, but you will probably have to buy the main harness for the entire car, which will be costly.  You might be able to find the plugs in a junk yard for a couple of dollars.  Honda sells fairly detailed service manuals for all their cars, so you should be able to purchase the OEM wire diagram for every connection on the radio.

Good luck!

Just a quick update.
I was able to get a wire harness from installer.com. It uses the factory radio connector for Civic 06. But I had to provide the power through other connector. But the unit is still complaining about "climate control".  I'm still working on that.
