Has anyone installed an avic d3 or any double din deck in a 2001 blazer with a din & 1/2 slot? I was  wondering if all I needed was a 2002 double din trim panel or if there were any major cutting involved or ? I Would prefer it to be flush. I measured inside the dash & it seems to be big enough. Thanks in advance.

I wasn't aware that there was a double din kit available for the 01 blazer... It's a 1.5 DIN Pocket... In order to get a double din in there, you would have to do some surgery and relocate the HVAC controls into another location and/or rebuild the lower part of the dash to accomodate the D3.

If there is enough space behind the trim panel, it'll be rebuilding the panel to look clean and make room. I haven't worked on this particular model, but from my experience, I don't think there is enough space to make it look right without major work...

If you think you can do it, then by all means, please do so and keep us up to date on progress and procedure so we can follow your example ^-^
