I have a 2005 GMC 2500 HD with Bose radio/Dvd system and would like to upgrade with the OEM 2007 Radio/Dvd/Navigation system. The Dealership was of no help with this. Has anyone ever done this? If so, how? Any help with this would be great.

Thanks,

Streetdr

Short answer no it will not work. The new GMC's are using a LAN-bus style data system to turn components on and off so without the BCM from the 2007 to send the proper signal it will not turn on. On second thought though, they do have "classic" body styles for 2007 which are exactly the same as the previos generation trucks so if you can snag one from these than it should work, however I think the classic body style is only used on the cheaper trucks so I don't know if nav is even an option on those.
