A year and a half ago I installed my brand new AVIC-Z1 in (what was) my 2004 OBS. I even found my old topic here

Anyway, I traded that car in and am the proud owner of a 2007 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. And of course, I took my AVIC-Z1 with me.

Now I'm looking for the VSS and Reverse signal again. I wanted to avoid going into the ECU and was able to find it in the CRU (cruise control) harness on the 2004. I'd like to do the same thing this time around.

Anyone know where to find the VSS, preferably in the CRU, and reverse light signal?

The vss will be light GREEN/ black on the back of the instrument panel cluster. It's in the plug closest to the center of the car. Sorry I don't have any info for the reverse light except to say hook it up at the actual light in the trunk.

Thank you, I'll check that out tonight.

I was hoping somone out there might have a pinout for the CRU, simply because I can access that without having to remove the driver-side dash. But if it comes down to the cluster, no big.
