Hey guys, I am purchasing a avn7000 tomorrow. I have a question, from everything i am reading it doesnt show me if there is an alternate input for video... Does it? Reasoning.. I want to hook up my xbox in the car and wonder if like the pioneer units if the eclipse has the input for video. Also I am assuming that the Rear view camera input on the Eclipse headunit is an rca female input correct?

Hey guys so I am wondering. If you are going to run fans for amps, tv's, a rear camera, etc... why would you not use a relay for all of that? So why would you not use a relay for all? Meaning using the acc to switch with 12volt battery power goin into the relay? So why wouldnt you? Just curious... I have tv's a rear camera, 2 amp fans....

I figure run an acc wire to a relay then fuse each item...

What else would you use???

I always use a relay..its better and safer than overloading the factory wiring...doing it the wrong way is just dangerous

i hear ya thanks man. I appreciate it. I kinda figured that. I never used a relay before until i knew how it worked. now i do and it just makes send to use the battery power than some acc wire you lift out of the fuse box or somewhere else...

if you dont have a power or amplified antenna dont worry about it..... i dont remember off the top off my head if it has an amplified antenna. just plug antenna in and check am/fm if you got good reception call it a day. are you getting audio? hopefully you dont got the canbus audio sytem(hate those)

thanks man, I will do it this weekend. for some apparent reason i thought i should connect that wire to acc... im a fool. it was late at night when i was trying to figure out all the wires. so if i dont connect that wire to anything i am ok? COOL!!! thanks again.

Cant wait to put this Eclipse AVN7000 in!!

Make certain your relay is rated for the accessory load, though... Sounds to me like you're going to be looking for something a bit bigger than your everyday Bosch 20A model.

Be careful there, too! Choose the right part!

It all reminds me of something that Moličre once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

tv's a rear camera, 2 amp fans      I think your run of the mill bosch relay will be able to handle the current.

Hey guys has anyone hooked up a ipod connection to either the AVIC n2 or the Eclipse AVN7000? I have the eclipse headunit and also just put the ipod option on it. I dont have an ipod but was thinking of getting one and putting a bunch of music videos on it. Can I watch the videos from the ipod? is the ipod option just for music? or videos as well? THANKS GUYS

Dont work much with eclipse but the ipod adapter for the n2 will only give you audio and no video.  You can rig something up and a get an adapter sold by apple that gives you a video output and connect it to one of your inputs from the N2.  At this moment the AVIC-N4 can play ipod videos directly from the ipod adapter and the Pioneer D3.

hey guys i have finished my installation in my chrysler 300 with the eclipse avn 7000 headunit. so everything is perfect on there but for some reason the dvd picture is not as clean as id like it to be. is there anyway i can find or use a better ground? can i just use a thicker wire to ground to the body? i didnt use the ground wire in the harness just ran the black wire to a piece of clean metal behing the dash... THANKS

The picture won't get any clearer with a different ground. If the picture quality ( DPI ) is not sufficient, you can't do anything about that, but if you change your settings for color, contrast and tint you should be able to have the picture look more vibrant and in some cases sharper.

hello, so i installed the TVR105 for the eclipse AVN 7000. So the antenna has what is very similar to a headphone esk plug (sorry do not know the technical term). Can I buy a splitter and connect more antennas? 2 in the back 2 in the front... Gosh I hope that makes sense...

You should be able to add more antennas.  I just bought the AVN 7000, and am putting it into a 2005 chrysler pacifica, and was wondering if that unit has to be bypassed to allow video to play while driving? I know with the AVICs by pioneer, u had to ground the parking break wire, then in the avic 2s, u had to solder 2 points in the deck, and with the N3s, u had to remove a silver sticker and flip a switch, and with jensen, there was a passcode u had to enter to get into the menus to let it play constantly... How do you do it with the Eclipse AVN 7000?
