I have a 06 dodge ram that hase the stock navigation unit. It has the upgraded radio with the back up camera plug in the back. I want to add the back up camera feature to it.

I got the whole wire diagram to the plugs with a stock back up camera from a jeep commander, hucked it up and the camera mode is not working.

Does anyone know if the radio hase to be unlocked by the dealer first to work?

The plug on the back of the radio hase 3 male prongs coming out  1 is camera return, 2 is camera signal, 3 is camera shield.

Can someone explain to me what what camera shield does?
