Does anyone have a link to a comprehensive list of basic tools a person would need as a car audio installer?

There could be an entire book written, depending on how deep your definition goes. A power drill with a full set of drill bits and several step-drills (aka Uni-bit), screwdriver sets, including Phillips, flat, Torx (in security and not...), a full set of sockets, both metric and SAE (I prefer 6-point, as they do not strip as easily), wrenches, ratchets. A Skil-saw. A builders square. An angle-finder. Multimeters, (true RMS preferred) with DCR and DC amps, AC volts. A locking toolbox, just to cover your own gear... Not REMOTELY comprehensive, but a scratch of the surface, and the bare minimum, that's about where I'd start.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
