Hi all, new to the forums here, so far I've found great information! However there is one thing keeping me from starting the wiring. The door lock types. Is this important to figure out or can I just wire the viper right up to the two wires listed as power lock and power unlock? I have a Viper 4105V (locks are negative). That I'm trying to install in a 2006 Subaru Impreza (door lock wires are negative).

Testing and verifying the door lock types and locating the wires is important.  Here is a great DEI TechTip that you can
use a primer / reference guide :  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=1213

For your application, the 2006 Impreza has Type B or (-) door locks.  Here is a link to a Pictorial on your vehicle to
assist on your install :  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=134600

You will be able to directly connect the Vipers lock output wires to the car.

Good luck!

Top of my head there are about 11 types.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Thank you very much for all that info! That pictorial helped a lot! I guess I didn't look in the right places for a pictorial. I'm ready for the install now. Shouldn't take me that long now that I know exactly where everything goes!
