Subject: Thread swap?

The other night myself and another member were replying to a thread about a specific wiring color.

Today, that thread is not the same one I replied to. If you follow the thread, it makes no sense, as to what either of us are replying to.

I did notice alot of *This thread does not exist * you cannot reply* to this thread about 7:35 PM Central time.

I don't know if that was the cause, or if someone merged the two together. Thought you should know.

Yes, posts do get moved and we're very much aware of it. Unfortunately and far too often some members will dissect an alarm install (for example) into several different topics. One may be for the door trigger, another for the hood pin, another for the starter kill relay, etc. and all for the same vehicle and alarm. When the moderators or myself see these, we group them into one topic. Sometimes, but not always, and not any fault of those trying to help the original poster, the thread may not make as much sense as it would have if they were to continue in their original/overall topic instead of creating a new one for each part of the install.

Those that do continue in their original topic for the entire install typically get more/better help than those that want to create a topic for each part of it. Besides getting more/better help for the original poster, it also helps all other members that use the forum search or who may work on the same vehicles or install the same products.

You'll also notice that some topics get renamed. This is done for the benefit of the original poster and again for those that use the forum search before posting new topics. If a topic was originally titled "1987 CRX si" and it is about an alarm/remote start, we would most likely rename the topic to read "1987 CRX si alarm/remote start". When members include more information in their topic title, the easier they make it for those that can help them and at the same time help others.

As always I appreciate the time and consideration you take to explain the matters, which pertain to the site, and its members.

The thread in question still *READS* very badly, LOL

You're welcome.

BTW, that topic has been broken into two separate topics.

Do you normally smoke crack while replying to posts?

You're welcome.
