I have a 2004 Dodge neon and for customizing purposes I need to separate the tail light circuit from the brake light circuit meaning I want to go from 2 bulbs in my tail light to three.
Is it as simple as removing the light bulb and hooking up to the correct wires or is there another route I have to follow?

Without knowing the Dodge specifics but assuming a normal stop-tail bulb combination which does NOT involve a flasher (as in stateside combined stop-flasher lights), then simply wiring each respective supply to whatever new bulb should suffice.
Even with combined stop-flashers that should still be ok if the flashers do not effect the tail bulbs.
If it uses LEDs it may not be that simple. You might have to get the tail supply direct from the light switch.

stop flasher?
The original tail light does not use leds and Ive modified my relay already to get rid of the quick flash.

stop flasher - as in vehicles that use the stop lights as left & right turn flashers aka indicators.

My neon has 1 multifunction red bulb. tails/brakes/signals. The one bulb performs all 3 duties.

I presume it's a dual filament bulb (and not a LED set up).
Have a look at 70’s chevy c20/rv taillights. That should have all the info you need unless you find a stop/flasher splitter.

The 7443/3157 lamps have two contacts, have strong light and dimmer light. when open the headlight, the dimmer lamp light on, when brake , the strong light light on( more light than driving) so others know brakes , can stop.One bulb has two funtion.Our online shop are specialized in various kinds of leds.
