My wife has some used car audio stuff that she brought with her when she moved in after we were married. I have a full size chevy truck and was thinking of using them. I have everthing I need to build a box, including a piece of MDF I need to get out of the way anyway.
The products are:
two kicker 12's that are pretty nice. They are kicker comp VR - 12VR- 4 ohlm w/dual voice coils.
The amp is a sony x-plod xm-2200GTX 2/1 cahnnel 1200w.
If I do use it I will put the stuff in my truck. I have a pioneer head unit with sub control and all, and I have the wiring there from a previous install. I don't know the way to hook everything up. The speakers are dual voice coil so they have four contacts. I am not sure how to wire everything. Should I run the amp two channel with one channel per speaker or run both of them mono on the same cahnnel? If I use the amp and speakers the amp and subs will be low end only. I have other stuff powering the mids and highs so I don't need anything for them.
In order to build a box I need the enclosure volume for a sealed enclosre too.
Any help or advice as far as how to set this up will be appreciated.
You need to wire each woofer as in the following diagram, and connect one woofer to each channel of the amp.
