I'm attempting to install a new clarion head unit in my '87 Crown Vic Country Squire. I am replacing the factory digital cassette w/external amp & 6 speakers.

I have a 4 channel floating ground adapter connected as per the schematic/color codes.

I get the hu display, but no sound output.

I scanned the schematics, but they are pdf's & I can't post them.

I did find this.....

I didn't connect the bl/wh wire as I thought that was for an aftermarket amp, could this be the solution?

I don't want to start indescriminately connecting things and make smoke LOL

Thanks in advance

if i am not mistaken that year car already is set up for floating you need to recheck your wiring, you can use a testlight in that car to check for power and then use a 9 volt battery to check for your speakers

The stock amp appears to be floating however, the adapter harness from the HU has both + and - wires.....

Use a 9V batt?
