Guys,
How hard is it to add the smart start module to an existing 5901.
Is it plug and play?
The reason I'm asking is because I can buy the kit for a much better price online than my local shop.
I just paid the local shop to install the 5901 for a big profit to them.... But I don't want to pay their high prices for the kit and install.
Thanks
Donald

I've been searching for answers to this.....
Is it possible for me to program the smart start myself?

you can connect the smartstart with one wire the d2d cable, but you need a viper dealer to activate it for you.

It's rocket science. Don't do it.
^ as Ted said, you could do it, but a dealer has to activate it for you. I personally would buy it online for cheap and pay the $30 or so to have them install it. Therefore you can keep your warranty with them still.
