viper 5901, 2008 dodge ram

Hi Today I brought my Dodge Ram 2500 to get a Viper 5901 installed. The guy got everything installed without problem (so he said). When he was trying to program the key module he never got the start to work. I think the module is XK531. When I hit the start button the ignition comes on, radio and stuff, but no attempt to start. I'm worried that he has something else done wrong and that's why it won't start. Any advise???? The guy spent 4hours trying to "program it"......... Also I don't see a led bulb anywhere. Should I have a led on my dash? Thanks Donald

what is the year of the truck i have done installs in 2005 that don't need the bypass do you have a gray key if it black you don't need the bypass if its a 2006 or newer it the wrong bypass

My truck is a 2008 ram 2500 diesel. The key is the big black onevwith built in buttons for locks. I'm almost certain y The key has a chip. So wrong bypass unit???? Wow

if its expresskit it should be a xk532 or a DLPKCHG2 or the new dball or xk09 would work if he is having trouble programing the transponder in the first two i have had to open them and touch the transponder to the key cylinder before to get them to program the last two i mentioned do not use a transponder i don't think would have to look at the instructions

chall would work to forgot that one the xk531 does not have the right stuff for the mux ignition your truck has

Thank you so much for the help! My receipt said xk531...... I'm assuming that is actually what he used, although I didn't see it with my own eyes. I will call them tomorrow morning to confirm. Thanks! Donald

You can also use a pkumux or ads-al-ca on that truck. You got this done at a shop and they couldnt figure out a 08 Ram?

I prefer the flcan on these vehicles. Also why is the customer asking this one and not the shop that did it lol.

And why did the customer pay if the job wasn't done?

Yes I'm the customer..... This shop is one of the 2 authorized dealers for viper. The guy said "my installer is the best around"..... Yeah right! I'm asking the questions because I am extremely OCD and I need to know what's going on. Lol. Yes I paid these idiots...... The installer said he couldn't reach tech support "because they are all at CES show". Which is total B.S. He also assured me that he installed a xk532 in my truck. I think they are sitting around scratching their heads!! I feel extremely sick about this now!
