Hey Guys / Gals ,

New member here....

I ordered and received a Compustar 7900AS for my 2002 Chevy Silverado 6.0 2500HD

Few questions:

1)What else do I need?

2)I’ve read about passlock bypass modules, but not sure which one to get???

3)Not sure if the passlock bypass gets wired to the factory harness then to compustar ?

4)Different wiring diagram for bypass itself? Or maybe plug and play option

Been a automotive mechanic for 15 years, I don’t mind wiring.

I just like to know what I’m doing before I start touching things.

Been looking at wiring diagrams for around 2 hours......was hoping for clarification for this alarm noob.

Thanks and Happy Holidays !

Id start with this great pictorial guide from Kreg357 located here. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=135786

Keep in mind that his first pic with the lock wires are + not - which he used the 451m for. Make sure you do not omit Ignition 2 (white) or you will have transmission issues. You could use the bypass he used which would connect to the data wire in the OBD2 connector or a Passlock-SL2 or GM-SL2 could be had on eBay for about $25 and should work fine for a bypass. Last 2 will require a few more wire connections. There are also newer options but some are overpriced because they cover newer systems too.
