Can someone help with the following please:

I would like to modify the following relay found in this page, found
here
Latched On/Off Output Using Two Momentary Positive Pulses - Positive Output to a Latched On/Off Output Using One Momentary Positive Pulse to engage and One Momentary Negative to disengage - Positive Output

Any thoughts?
thanks

on the third (right) relay, connect terminal 86 to +12V battery instead of ground. terminal 85 will be your negative unlatch input.

sweet Jesus, this forum is gold.
Thank you Ween.

Do you happen to know where I can get a latching relay like the one described above or they do not make such complicated relay?
thanks

how much current are you needing to switch?

it is an alarm pulse, probably no more than 0.1 mA. Just say 0.5 mA to be sure.
thanks

I know I am asking for much, but anything in normal size relay? The wires for the alarm are about 16 gauge.
I am assuming that the one you linked is a solid state and not electromagnetic, right?
thanks

no, it's electromagnetic. twin coils, latching, 1A contacts

Magnecraft 785XBXCD-12D Dual coil latching, 88 ohm coils, 16 A DPDT contacts.

thank you Ween, you have been very helpful.
I was looking at the wiring diagram for the Dual coil DC (785XBXCD-12D) right here

and I would like to verify, if possible, the following (suing NEMA notation):

(1) 12 volts fused goes to contact B and ground to contact A (coil 1) to set the latching, correct?
(2) if (1) is correct, then the latched 12 volts should come out of contact 4 and contact 6, correct?

(3) a negative pulse can RESET latching relay, correct?

(4) that negative pulse goes at coil 2 with contact 8 at 12 volts fused and 5 being operated by the switch that will provide the negative pulse by means of grounding contact 8, correct?

thanks for your input.

1. correct
2. 7 and 9 are the common terminals for their respective poles,
likewise 4 and 6 are the normally open terminals, 1 and 3 normally closed. battery power on 7 will transfer from 1 to 4 when the relay operates/latches and revert back to 1 when reset/unlatched.
3. correct
4. correct
