2005 acura tl defroster wire

Does anyone know the rear defroster wire color and location on a 2005 Acura TL? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BLACK / YELLOW (+) @ driver kick panel in a black loom comming from the fuse box.Ted

forgot to mention, if it helps, the defrost is in the smae location as the trunk release trigger.

Note: program defrost for 8minutes

Thanks Tedmond! You're AWESOME!!!! My IDATALINK module says that this is one of the features but how does that work? Temperature sensing? That is why I was needing the info, so I could hook the wire from my 5901 to it.

which idalink module are you using?

some will work by temperature but not too sure on that.

I checked the location you gave me. @ the black loom along with the trunk release and there are 2 BLACK / YELLOW wires both testing + ,not plugged in. My question is. The 5901 has a - defrost output that can be set to pulse or latched. I'm lost at the moment. Which wire do I use and do I need a relay? Or is there a negative trigger wire in another location?

to test, set DMM to 20vdc, black to ground, red to wire you are testing.

dmm should read 12-14vdc when the defrost is on.

from the viper unit, take that neg output and wire to a relay like so

85 - defrost or 2nd status from unit

86 - constant 12v fused at 5 amps87 - constant 12v fused at 10 amps30 - to defrost wire.

I says your inbox is full. But about the window roll down: I have the windows set to roll up when I arm/lock. That works fine. Here is what the manual says for the aux 1, 2, &3: 2-9 Aux 1 Validity (1) Latched (2), Latch reset w/ignition (3), 30-sec. Timed (4) • Validity: Output that sends a signal as long as the transmission is received. • Latched: Output that sends a signal when the Aux 1 button(s) is pressed and continues until the same button(s) is pressed again. • Latched, reset with ignition: Similar to the latched output this output type turns ON the first time the Aux 1 button(s) is pressed and turns OFF the next the same button is pressed. This output type additionally stops and resets whenever the ignition is turned ON, and then OFF. • 30-second timed: Output that sends a continuous signal for 30 seconds. • Off: Output is disabled. Note: All auxiliary channel timed outputs can be programmed using the Bitwriter ® (1-90 seconds)

set aux 1 to validity.

you will unlock, then press aux to roll down.

The rear defog on the TL is a 40 amp circuit. There is another way which I think is much better because it simply triggers the rear defog exactly as if you pushed the rear defog switch in the car. This allows the MICU to control the timing and it will auto shut off at 15 minutes. The only pain is that you have to take the center console apart and get access to the back of the Display Control Unit (behind the navi screen) and the green 16-pin connector that has the rear defog switch wiring. You'll need a relay: 85 -200mA pulsed from viper (wire #5 of the remote start aux output)or H2/16 if you have the new harness 86 +12V 30 tapped to black wire on defog switch (or any ground) 87 tapped to yel wire on defog switch (D7). Now, anytime you remote start the car and the temp is below 55 degrees, the unit will trigger the rear defog and the timing will be controlled by the car's computer (MICU). It's exactly the same as pushing the defog switch.
