I am requesting the wiring diagram and color codes for a 1994 Grand Cherokee Lerado.
I'm installing an Ungo MS2004 alarm, with 2 power window modules, door lock relay (built in), radar, impact, etc.
I need the complete wiring codes, including starter kill relay diagram if possible.
I'd be eternally grateful.
thanks!
These power window modules have really poor instructions/diagrams, and the Ungo didn't come with ANY directions, and Clarion refuses to release any data.
I had to get the color codes for the alarm from a very nice dealer who had the diagrams for the system haha

Okay. I got the alarm about half-done now.
Door pins work, impact and motion work, flashing parking lights work, sirens work, etc. Here are the things I completely cannot find or understand for some reason lol
1: Dome Light output (12V negative)
This should turn on the dome light when the alarm is disabled, to view the car interior upon approach.
problem: No mattre how I try to splice this neg. line from the Ungo MS2004 into the lighting circuit, it doesn't work!
Does this output require a bosche relay wired into the lighting circuit somehow, and it's negative feed is just a trigger for the relay's coil?
If this is the case, how do I wire it?
2: Power Door Locks. The Ungo has a built-in relay for power lock/unlock. I have no earthly idea how to wire this to the factory power locks, and where to find teh wiring harnesses to tap for doing so.
3: Power window modules, to roll up the windows upon alarm arming.
Same deal. no clue how to do this.
4: "Alarming/Horn Honk" output. does this require a relay to honk the horn when the alarm sounds?
5: Starter Kill. The Ungo has 2 blade connectors, and a fat brown wire that has terminals on each end to connect here for starter kill.
How is this wired? I haven't any idea on a starter kill circuit, and the simple diagrams on the site, while very helpful, don't quite equate in my head for some reason, to the wiring in the car. This one I have to get right on the first try. heh
6: The Ungo has an output for driver door priority so that when the alarm is disarmed with one click of the remote, only the driver's door unlocks. second click unlocks all.
Where is this wire supposed to be connected in the car? any idea?
That's a start on the problems. heh I have a basic functioning system now, just no starter kill, power lock/unlock, or window roll-up. the dome-light surveillence and horn would be nice touches but I suppose I could live without them if I had to do so.
thanks yet again, mon ami.

WOW, you have some serious problems there buddy 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee wiring diagram request -- posted image.94 Jeep Grand Cherokee wiring diagram request -- posted image. JJ . Try this for each one of the 6 you are having trouble with:

1: Dome Light output (12V negative)

This should turn on the dome light when the alarm is disabled, to view the car interior upon approach.
problem: No mattre how I try to splice this neg. line from the Ungo MS2004 into the lighting circuit, it doesn't work!
Does this output require a bosche relay wired into the lighting circuit somehow, and it's negative feed is just a trigger for the relay's coil?
If this is the case, how do I wire it?

  • The door trigger ( dome light ) wire is a YELLOW wire ( - ) in the driver's kick panel. You CAN NOT grab the light under the driver dash, this will not work. Verify that you have the right wire with a DMM while you are down there.

2: Power Door Locks. The Ungo has a built-in relay for power lock/unlock. I have no earthly idea how to wire this to the factory power locks, and where to find teh wiring harnesses to tap for doing so.

  • The OEM door lock system in the Jeep Cherokee is a ( + ) Type B System . If the Ungo has alternating polarity door locks, then all you have to do is to find the lock wire ( ORANGE / VIOLET ) in the black connector on the driver kick panel ( or  red connector  on the passenger kick panel ) and the unlock wire ( PINK/PURPLE ) in the black connector on the driver kick panel ( red connector  on the passenger kick panel) and connect them to the Ungo wires. If the Ungo only has ( - ) output door locks then you will need to place 2 relays inline of the Jeeps lock/unlock wires. Here's a diagram of the relays you will need if the Ungo does not have alternating polarity door locks: https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#3wp

3: Power window modules, to roll up the windows upon alarm arming.

Same deal. no clue how to do this.

  • You need to purchase a window roll up module for this to happen properly. Then you need to grab the wires at the door and the switch. You will need to cut the window up and down wires in half and install this window roll up module between the wires.

4: "Alarming/Horn Honk" output. does this require a relay to honk the horn when the alarm sounds?

  • Most alarm systems require that you use a relay for this circuit ( it will tell you in the owner's install manual if one is needed ) . The Jeep requires a ( - ) input for the horn to operate so make sure that the Ungo horn output wire is also a ( - ) output.

This one I have to get right on the first try. heh

  • You need a relay to wire in the starter disable properly. You have to cut the starter wire in half for this to work properly & the relay connects and disconnects the starter wire :
    • 86 : Ignition # 1
    • 85 : Starter disable wire from the UNGO alarm ( just 1 wire )
    • 30 : Starter solenoid side of cut starter wire
    • 87a : Key cylinder side of cut starter wire

6: The Ungo has an output for driver door priority so that when the alarm is disarmed with one click of the remote, only the driver's door unlocks. second click unlocks all.

Where is this wire supposed to be connected in the car? any idea?

  • This wire will have to be installed straight to the driver door lock motor  for just the driver door. The Jeep has a central locking system where it controls all the doors when you lock and unlock the system. Look into the door of the driver side and find the door lock motor and grab the wire for the unlock and attach it to the priority unlock wire and then use the normal PINK/PURPLE wire for the rest of the doors on the other unlock wire from the UNGO.

Thanks a bunch. Very helpful. I'm figuring this out as I go (obviously heheh)
The biggest problem is Ungo's refusal to supply a wiring diagram for the alarm, color codes for it's harness or anything else of that ilk. *laugh*
here's the next, hopefully simple, issue. I have a 5-wire harness for the door lock/unlock relay built into the BCM. I have a DMM reading table and need to know which wires are actually what, in regards to the relay, so I can figure out how to connect it to the Jeep which has a 3-wire positive pulse door lock system.
Ungo door lock relay harness wires are:
black (fused), blue, violet, green, and white.
black to blue - n/o, pulse closed @ unlock
black to green - n/o, pulse closed @ lock
green to white - n/c, pulse open @ unlock
blue to violet - n/c, pulse open @ lock
Jeep colors @ door switch:
RED / white - +12V constant
ORANGE / black - +12V @ lock
Pink/Black - +12V @ unlock

Okay door locks are done.
once I used my brain a bit, I figured out what needed to go where. LOL
Black to +12V constant
blue unlock
green to lock
heh

Okay the only thing left to figure out properly is the starter kill relay.
I'm not totally sure I need a relay for this circuit. The Ungo has two blade-terminals (male) to which I can connect this heavy-gauge loop of wire that was supplied. If it's a loop, I'd think that indicates the relay is internal to the BCM. I'll try to confirm this with a semi-local shop who carries this model of alarm system tomorrow to be sure.
The windows I'm sure I can handle ID I can get to the wires. The biggest trouble with this Grand Cherokee, is that the driver's side wiring harnesses contained behind the kick panel, are a real BEAR to reach and they are all so tightly secured, it's nearly impossible to reach them. Unfortunately for this particular feature, there's little alternative. I'd wire this all in right behind the door panel or run wires to the door controls and splice in there, but beneath the grommet on the door, there;s a huge molex connector instead of just a bunch of taped wires. I may have to drill a new hold in the door edge if I can get in there, to do that.
ugh.
anyone who's worked on a Jeep before, I'd really love any hints here to make this a bit more asailable.
thanks!

All that might need to be done with this BRWON wire is to aatach each end to the CUT starter wire and the relay is internal. Check with the local shop first before attempting this. Did you take off the driver under dash area so it's easier to work around  ? I've worked on a 1996 JGC and I thought it had a ton of room up there and by the window wires and such ?
