This will be my very first Security/Auto start install.  I am diving into my wife's car and could use a whatever knowledge you can spare.  I have a 2001 subaru legacy outback sedan limited.  I have purchased the crime stopper cs-2015fm informer.  If you have installed on this car I could use some help.  (Basic step by step Help).  Here are a couple of my concerns without even getting under the dash...

1.  Do I disconnect the battery

2. I was kidding about number one

3. How do I go about disarming the factory security system?

hi there, hope i can help.

The factory security disarms with eh power lock circut, this means you just have to hook up power locks and it will disarm.

heres a wire digram for the vehicle: http://www.designtech-intl.com/Content/techsupport/wirecolors/VehicleDetail?modelID=1281

have fun, its a pain in this car

I did some subs and they really suck I had to interupt the factory alarm trigger so the horn would not blow when remote starting. Have fun with that. If you can take it to some one that knows those cars.
