The ground out while running is the yellow/black wire on the crimestoppers. The green remote start trigger wire gets hooked to the White (lock)wire in the drivers kick panel,This way when the lock button is pressed 3 times the car will remote start, you will also have to program the unit for 3 pulses on the green wire to start(option #5 on programming page).

Ok thanks,

I think I have almost all my questions answered about the wires except a few.

For example on the RS unit do I hook the RED / white wire to tach or can I leave that off?

The purple wire to the 12v+ brake pedel?

Wht do you hook the brown wire to? It says it is a trunk pop. Can I leave that off?

On the DB-GMDL-Bp unit. Where does the ORange- wire go? It says for the type of car I am using it on it is a trunk input.

I'm also having problems being able to switch the vehicle type on the unit. It is defaulted at 1 but I need to to go to 2 and it is being stubborn. Thanks again.

you don't have to hook up the RED / white tach wire-These units work good in tachless mode.
The purple brake switch wire is mandatory!
Thr brown trunk release wire from the crimestopper goes to the orange trunk input wire on the gmdlbp, you don't need this wire if using factory remote.
Keep trying to get the gmdlbp into type 2 mode,I just had a bad GMDLBP yesterday,so if after several attempts if it won't go to type 2 then it's probably bad.also you don't need to hook up the green and blue doorlock wires from the remote start to the gmdlbp if your using the factory remotes.

if you don't have the instructions,go to bypasskit.com and get the manual for the GMDLBP.

***VIOLET/WHITE (-) Connect this wire to disarm wire from remote car starter
ONLY if the OEM alarm sounds once when remote starting vehicle.
In a Type 1 & 4 installation the orange wire can be used to activate
the vehicles panic mode as long as the remote system has a dedicated panic output.
A horn output is not suitable since it is also used to provide confirmation chirps, etc...
Which will result in triggering the panic function.
****ORANGE (-)
**BROWN (-) For reliable conversion of analog to digital, all (-) input wires require
a solid ground to activate each command function. Relays are not required except in
cases in which the output(s) ground signal is insufficient.
(Example: transistor +/- doorlock outputs)
TECH NOTES:

ORANGE(-) ****PANIC INPUT TYPE 1 & 4, TRUNK INPUT FOR TYPE 2 & 3

Try to un-plug the gmdlbp for a minute then plug it back in and try to re-set the platform again.
