03 mazda protege5

I did a radio install the other day in a 2003 mazda protege5, and to remove the radio you must first detach 2 cables for the heater controls, one behind the glove box to the left, the other beneath the steering column to the right, once these cables are removed the heater controls pop out and allow you to remove the radio.

The install went fine, and I put everything back together, but when it was done i noticed the heater/air control knob (for temp) was tighter to move (its a circular one).  But i figured no big deal.  Anyways the customer just called back and said his heat is not working now.  Does anyone know what i need to do to make the heater work?  Are the cables to tense?  Anybody with some expeirence with this car that could lend me any info I would greatly appreciate it.  I really dont want this to turn into a damage claim, thanks.

You quite likely have a slight bend in the cable.

Making sure that the cable was put back in the same area as it was removed is key.

What I mean is snaking the damn thing thru the car the same way it was removed.

The cables are "just long enough" to do the job they were designed to do!!!
