Since my other deck got fried I just got my hands on a Pyle PLCD48.  I opened my dash, hooked up the deck, then turned the car on.  The deck glows, so I know it has power.  The problems is, all it does is glow.  Can't put a CD in or even make anything show up on screen.  Anybody know what I did wrong?

There are two gold plated philip screw with a reg plastic tag. Have you remove those?

Where on the deck are the screws, and what purpose do they serve?  I'm not seeing them, and that's probably a bad thing.

If you bought the Pyle PLCD48 new. There are two screws on top of the deck with a red tag that will tell you to remove it when you are installing it. You will need to remove the screws or else it will block your CD disc when you are trying to play it. The screw serves no purpose other than to let you know that the head unit is new. If you don’t see the screw and you bought the head unit new then the head unit must have been open and tested and maybe even used or else why would the screw be missing?

i was wondering what those holes were... i bought the deck used, so they're gone already.  I have seen it work in the car I bought it from, and it doesn't work in mine, hence I assume I did something wrong with the wiring.  I figured someone on this forum might know a common mistake during installation that would cause the deck to behave like that.

thanks for you help.

Check and see if you are getting a good ground. Also, what you can do is try resetting the head unit. The reset button is in the front and on the right side. You will only find the button when you flip open the face.
