Yes, yes, and yes all valid reasons to use an aftermarket alarm over factory but why use both? Does the math actually add up that two alarms protect and deter 2x better than just one? If so I think maybe it's time to add another DEI alarm/remote start to the one I already have. Or do what I do on some Hondas, pull the plug on the factory alarm! Also Toyotas. As for new cars, just add a CAN alarm.

For me it's more easy if the factory installed alarm still will be there, so I can use the FOB remote also. But need some prox radar warning etc. Just adding an extra alarm will give me this opportunities, I can alwys remove the OEM alarm if neccessary.

It's not a CAN bus system, easy old wiring.

And also, if I use the OEM alarm this can control the indash 12V alarm led!
