Try to install, then if it doesn't start, try it with the key in the ignition. If it then starts you need a by-pass. Also is there a security light any where on your dashboard/fascia that goes out when you turn on the key? Then you need a by-pass.

Bulldog says you do. You can try the install, when your done wiring everything up try a r/s. If it does not start put the key in the ign if it starts, then you need a bypass.No better feeling then getting a remote start to work right!

Wrap the head of the key in tinfoil.  Not the part that you stick in.  If the car starts then no immobilizer.  If it doesnt start then you have an immobilizer system. 

Not all Camry's have a transponder from that generation. I think only the 6 cylinder engines and maybe the SLE trim have them... There would be a security light flashing and would it would stop flashing as soon as you stuck the key in the ignition but not turn it. The security light is in the bottom right of the picture. I put a yellow box around it to point it out.

If an all steel key starts the car than it does not need a transponderbypass module.  Although most web sites list this vehical as having a transponder key some do not. I have come acrosse a few 06 and 07 toyotas that do not have the security key.Solartech Window Tinting and Electronics,contract installer
