Hi,
I hope some some one can help. My friend purchased a viper responder one, and i installed it for him in a 95 subaru legacy wagon. Install was a piece of cake took 45 minutes. The damn thing wont remote start. Red status LED on the brain does NOT light up ever. When i attempt to remote start it parking lights flash 5 times (hood pin shutdown) Which is weird because i dont even have it hooked up! So i tried hooking up the hood pin, still same issue.I also tried a new ground, and randomly tried the remote start and it worked great. Shut it down via brake pedal and tried to start it again, Nothing! Anyone have any idea what it could be ? Im 100% positive its not the wiring. Im pretty sure its just a bad brain seeing as it did come in a refurbished box. Any input is appreciated, thanks.
i am an idiot

The remote start brain may be smarter than you think.  It may know that you do not have a hood pin installed.  You really need a hood pin.

did you hook up the nuetral safety wire, if your car doesn't have a nuetral safety switch you need to hook this wire up to ground?

...P.S. The five light flashes are because you held the transmitter button too long and put the remote starter into car finder mode...
