I just purchased a DHD power Cruiser 2 channel amp 1600 watss.  And I want to know what woofers I should get.  My main choice right now is the Kicker vr comp 15's.  Any suggestions would be helpful not really trying to spend over 250 on woofers.  Really trying to beat uncle system he has 2 pioneer IMPP 15's on a soundstorm 1000 watt 2 channel amp with an American Pro crossover.  The 15's hit hard as hell any suggestions would help thanks.

If you bridge your 2-channel amp and have two of the Comp VR 15s wired up for a single 4 ohm load, they would probably SPANK his Pioneers.  All depends on how much power the amps are putting out (guaranteed his isn't putting out 1000 watts and yours won't put out 1600 watts).  But good luck finding two of them for less than $250.  Maybe on ebay if you want to go that route, but definitely not from an authorized dealer.  I found one on ebay for $94.99 but never heard of the seller....it's worth a look though

The only DHD amp I found with a rating of 1600watts was the NTX-3105. Its rated at 270 x 2 @ 2ohms, 200 x 2 @ 4ohms, and 540 x 1 @ 4ohms bridged. Trust esmith when he says you'll never see the boasted 1600 watts. That rating was more than likely based on a split second time (just before the amp blows) on a system with larger than a 14.4 volt electrical system.
The Comp VR's come in 2 or 4 ohm DVC's.
Make sure you get two 4ohm DVC's.
1) Either Wire in series/parallel for a 4ohm total load and bridge the amp

2) Or wire each sub parallel (1 sub per channel) for a 2ohm load per channel

At first glance I wouldn't suggest it with that amp.
With three 4ohm DVC's wired in...
series/parallel = 2.67ohms (amp not stable bridged)
parallel = 0.66ohms (amp not stable bridged)
series = 24ohms (not enough power produced)
With three 2ohm DVC's wired in...
series/parallel = 1.34ohm (amp not stable bridged)
parallel = 0.33ohms (amp not stable bridged)
series = 12ohms (not enough power produced)
I don't know if DHD amps are capabile of handling "Tri-Mode" or not, so use this portion at your own risk (I'm also not sure what the power distribution would be in Tri-Mode). Tri-Mode can work, but only on amps whose circuitry was designed to handle it...
To wire Tri-Mode, you would need two 4ohm DVC's and one 2ohm DVC.
The two 4ohm DVC's would each be wired in Parallel (1 sub per channel). The one 2ohm DVC would be wired in Series and Bridged. It would look something like this...
