I've run into a problem with my ignition relay, i have one wire that needs to be connected to the "start" position and one that needs to be connected to the "on" position.

STARTER|yellow              |+  |ignition harness            |

IGNITION|pink                |+  |ignition harness            |

Are these the two wires i should use?

I made the mistake of listening to a friend and just plug the two wires into the interior fuse panel and blew my radio fuse.

Okay, I went ahead and took another stab at it and it didn't work.

Heres what the instructions have....

Yellow wire (12v Ignition) to pin #86 to "on" position

    Grey wire To pin #85

Red wire from pin #87a to "start" position

Wire from pin #30 to starter motor

I hooked up the yellow wire from the alarm to the pink ignition wire and the red wire from pin #87a to the yellow starter wire.  When i did that and went to connect the battery back up the starter began to spin by itself.

By any chance am i hooking up the wrong wires all together or do i just have the pink and yellow wires backwards?

Any help would be great.....Thanks

Deviuz

Soemthing is missing above. Let's start over. An "ignition relay" should not touch the starter wires EVER
Are you installing a standard alm or remote start?
If standard are you just trying to install the "starter kill relay"
What kind of alarm? And the yellow wire in the intructions for alarm is labeled what?
here till 5pm

when installing a starter kill relay do this-
wire relay as follows
                             Starter wire Ignition Side
                                               | Pin 87a
                                   ________|_________
                                   |           |               |
Pin 85 to negitive        |           |               |       Pin 86 to positve 12v
trigger armed              |           |               |
Output                        |            |               |___
                             -- |          ____           |
                                   |                           |
                                   |                           |
                                   |_________________|
                                                |
                                                | Pin 30 to starter wire (starter side)
Pin 87 is not used

Relay should be wired as follows.
86 - ignition
85 - ground when armed
87a - one side of starter wire
30 - other side of starter wire
86 should never go to constant +12v on a starter kill. You will have a relay energized whenever the alarm is armed and it will kill the battery if left for a few days.

Jworm, I dont understand what you mean by....

87a - one side of starter wire

30 - other side of starter wire

What kind of alarm? And the yellow wire in the intructions for alarm is labeled what?

the Alarm is a stellar (autoloc)  and on the instructions the yellow wire has 12v ignition in ( )

Take your cars starter wire and simply cut it and put one side to 87a and the other side to 30....That means using the yellow wire under the dash in the stering colum hrness.
