i have the gold series street glow under carriage kit. does anyone know if i can tap the +12 volt wire off any wire in the car (for example the cigarette lighter) or should i directly connect it the battery?

The best way to do it is to run a fused wire directly to the battery. But you can tap any + 12 volts as long as it can safely power the load on the circuit as well as your neon’s. Just remember that if you tap an existing circuit you must still fuse the neon’s. You will also want to wire a toggle switch on the + 12volt of the neon's to shut them on and off.

how will i know if it can handle it or not? will it just not light up and thats how i can tell?

It’s hard to tell the load on a circuit.  My advice to you would be to run a new line from the battery. You will want to put an inline fuse within 18 inches of the battery.

always know the circuit your are tapping into ... just go to the bat. or the ign. harness and fuse .. your neons will also be brighter
dont be a pet monkey ..use your dmm
