If it's the only monitor in your system and you have a good acc source, not much.  I ran into this problem when I purchased a video system to install in my Expedition.  I purchased the monitor from a merchant on e-bay and it advertised as TFT but I got STN.  The picture quality was really bad.  I had to go through a few things to get the merchant to send me what was advertised.  The TFT looks great.  I would send it back.  It's just not worth it.
