This is the self-powered 1/2DIN unit?  Yes, I've installed a couple of them and they work great for a 5.1 system.  Surprisingly nice sound quality and good built-in processor to create a center channel in a standard stereo setup.

Thanks for the reply - if i installed it with a 2 way electronic crossover in a two amp system,  would you connect it directly to the head unit?

It's designed to go in line with the front channel line outputs.  Connect the RCA's from the head unit to the center channel, then there is an RCA loop-through that goes to your front channel crossover and amp (if you use one.)  The center channel has it's own crossover and built-in amp. The unit is designed to mount in the dash under the head unit in a 1.5 DIN opening.
