Hey everybody,

I'm making myself a box for 2 12" Infinity Reference subs.  dual 4 ohm voice coils on each.  They each run 300W RMS, 1200W peak.  I need a gauge of wire to use for wiring up my subs inside the box?  I was thinking 14 but would it be better to use 16?  Also, does the resistance of my wire increase with the size of gauge I use?  Thanks in advance.

OK goody I just happen to have a nice bundle of some 12 gauge right here in my hands, left over from an amp install kit I bought off eBay.  Thanks again!

Big wire for the sub looks good.  And if you have it already, might as well use it.  But it isn't needed.  The CEO of Adire Audio once told me that for subs you really don't need anything larger than 16 awg.  And that was for their 4800 watt peak sub.
