Anytime I have tried this I simply used the remote starter's output to trigger a relay. The relay is hooked up to the rear defogger's switch contacts. You may have to disassemble the climate controls to get to the switch contacts depending on where it is mounted. This is usually the best way to do it as there are usually thermostats and or timers involved with the factory system.sparky

To just add a little here usually the defroster needs a pulsed ground not a constant. This simulates the defroster button being pushed.This allows the car defroster timer to work as it normally would. Now you need to know two things. Which wire on the defoster switch needs the ground and which wire on the remote can give it a pulsed ground.For the first problem you may need to get a wiring diagram or do some wire testing.For the second you need to read the literature for the remote involved.

Pin 85 at the blue relay in the fuse box. That would require a constant output though I am sure since you are going to the relay. That is the info I have on it. J Rilla
