sound deadening questions

Currently on my explorer when I am driving on the highway at around 65+ I get wind noises coming through the door as near as I can tell. I am worried that will screw with my system sound when I install it. Now, to the point: 1) is dynamat/brownbread the answer here, or should I replace the rubber insulation around the door? 2) if dynamat was the answer, where is that most economically installed. I mean to say, if I was only gonna get 10 ft of it or so, where is the best place for it? Around the door when I take the trim off, under the seats, trunk (although I doubt it would help much in the explorer.....but maybe), where? thanks

if wind noise is the problem (not road noise), then it's the insulation.

It's called the door seal if it is actually wind coming through into the cabin.  Most so-called "wind noise" is not actually caused by leaking seals and gaskets but by the design of the vehicle.  Wind hitting the side windows off the rear-view mirrors (caused by mirror shape) sounds like it is coming through the door when in fact it is not, and wind coming through the windshield wipers hitting the windshield can sound like your windshield is leaking.  If it is this kind of noise there is very little you can do about it unless you are willing to start modifying the vehicle.Support the12volt.com

yo, i was wondering what you think would be best for a quicktemporary sound deadener, i used expanding foam to brace the 2 peices of sheet meta on my trunk lid closed, would it b good to throw some carpet padding on it to, it wont b flush tight like dynamat but be on it, or just leave it to the sheet metal thats been braced better????
