Locating Tachometer wire

I need help installing a Prestige APS 750a on a 94 Nissan Altima. I having trouble finding the Tach wire. What is the function of this wire? When I connect all 6 wires from the wire harness and activate the remote starter, the starter continues to attempt to start the vehicle although the car has already started and running. Then after 5 seconds, it stops. Then 5 more seconds, the whole unit shuts off. What might I be doing wrong?

The alarm will continue to try and start the car if the tach wire is not hooked up correctly. The purpose of the tach wire is to tell the alarm CPU that the car is already running and only then will it stop spinning the starter.

Well, according to this chart from the 12volt.com, your tach wire is a Green wire at the coil.  I'm not sure on your car, but I didn't want to have to go through the firewall to hookup to the tach wire...so I actually found the same wire in a mess of wires behind the driver's knee panel (the plastic panel above the driver's knees and to the left side).

Thanks Guys for all your responses. I was able to find the Tach wire at the ECM Control Module. I brought the repair manual for my car and found out that the ECM has an outgoing wire to the tachometer. Now it works like a charm.
