i need to buy a self powered siren to suit an older clifford.....the battery in mine is dud as it only works for a few seconds on the wires are cut

i think its g3 clifford?? ...anyone suggest a place that sells these at sensible prices?

im in uk ,but happy to buy from overseas

if you can find a local shop that deal with DEI products they should be able to order it.......since DEI bought out clifford you can buy all clifford products from them

Why dont you simply buy another battery from a supplier? All the unit has to be is the same voltage, if the after market battery has a larger Ah rating then that is even better.

This is alot cheaper and faster than simply replacing the entire siren assembly.

what your saying it should come apart??? then just pop in a recharable battery?

i did think of that, but i wasnt sure that if they would come apart...any idea if theyre a common sized battery inside

Yes the unit does come apart. There will be 3-5 inset screws above or inside the cone area.

When you seperate the unit you will see a two cell battery wrapped in plastic. It will be no longer than an inch.

The standard internal battery is 4.8 volts DC, and the current capacity is 280 mAh...

The only thing that is of prime importance is what voltage the battery is.

If its a 4.80 volt battery then get that. The current rating can be as large as you like, but do not get a smaller value for obvious reasons as the sounding duration will be shorter.

The VARTA NICAD is rated for 14 hours 28 mA and is a 4.8 volt with a 280 mAh out put.

Just so you know you dont even have to use the same size battery. You can simply wire in a larger battery cell like a 7 AH battery and lengthen the leads.

Going this route will provide you with weeks of 24 hour sounding protection.

No need . . . Go to www.batterymart.com they can make any battery size with the current capacity you wish.

They provide excellent service after the sale, and I have done business with them for years.
