I install a Pioneer 6500 into my 92 STS (previously conatined the Bose system. Obviously had to run all 11 wires from the deck to the harness in the trunk... done. Not a problem. Factory speakers sound great via the factory amps attached to each speaker until i started playing with the fader....

if you fade to the back left speaker you get almost no treble and the back right continues to fire. fade to the back right and it sounds spectacular, leaving the back left silent as it should. the same thing is happening with the front speakers as well.

I remember reading something else about ths same problem but I can't find the topic anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas and/or solutions? possibly having to do with the fact the amps are a common ground (???)

put things back the way they were and use a good quality Bose differential convertor... you plug it right in at the HU and done... no muss, no fuss

I'd love to put in the old deck but the problem is that the CD unit has been broken for quite some time which is why I installed the 6500. There's no point in me forking out $$$ to replace a factory deck when I have the 6500 laying around.

i meant put the wiring back the way it was, hook up a Bose line level convertor and replace the head unit... simple and effective

best buy sells a piece called factory amp interface...its 40 bux

those amp interfaces suk... previous "yellow tag" 4 years stupid question but just making sure you cut the output wires on the bose amp...? and your not still running them through the amp .. also you didnt use any of the unshielded common ground wires right??? where that amp sits i believe you can trace that harness back .. in the trunk... about 10-12 inches and youll find where the unshielded wires tie"" together .thats if you are useing them .. cause thats what it sounds like to me...

get rid of the bose speakers and amps fast!

Or you could do it the right way and use one of these. I would call peripheral and ask if it can be used with your car, and if you need an additional harness.

gee... isnt that what i suggested right at the beginning?? i use PIE's Precision Differetial Convertor for Bose systems... but same idea........
