What was the amplifier tied into for remote on and where was it grounded to? Is the stock deck in the truck still or was it an aftermarket that was already installed?

Sorry,

Appreciate everyones help. Im not that great at installing anything and that is why I took the truck in.

I had two ten inch subs and my old/new rockford phosgate 500 amp installed. I did not touch or replace the stock bose system stereo or speakers. At the same time they installed Auot/ Start. I should also mention that the truck is equiped with Onstar.

I plan to take any or all information back to the installation place so that they can look for the things you mention.

Thank you all very much.

Mike

Mike, where in Canada are you? Now tell me this, what kind of auto start is this and when you push a button to lock or unlock the doors or remote start, do the park lights flash? They may have also attempted to hook up domelight supervision and taken out a ground in the process. My bet is that there is something in the remote start install that is causing the hiccup.

On my way out the door right now, need to go take out my frustrations on a volleybal and cram it down someone's throat. 2003 Chev Silverado - Wiring need help - Last Post -- posted image. To me it sounds like a ground or shorting issue on the lighting control circuit that may very well be tied into the remote start, especially if they tried to do a dome light control. Might be something to ask them. One of the other guys here might have a little more insight as well. If the brand is Autostart, we have had very few reliability issues with them, it is generally in the installation where things go wrong. A side note here, when you remote start the truck and jump in, does the vehicle shift properly?

First remote starter I have ever had. When you get in if you hit the brakes it turns the truck off, so you get in turn the key to on positon and drive away. As far as hard shifting I havent noticed anything no.

Hay guy,

I haven’t been a installer in a while, but it sounds to me like the amp/speaker guys probably put a screw through a wire harness. Often times like this when the problem has no rhyme or reason, its because some crazy random wires are now shorted together..

Just a thought..
