Vehicle is a 1989 camaro v6 w/automatic trans, vats pellet in key.I hooked this system up myself.
Installed polaris 4,and everything fully working with it.Next,I install the IS4.Everything wired up according to the manual, but having this problem...the car will only remote crank if the system is in valet mode. The car starts, and dies with in 2 seconds. No starting at all in actual alarm mode.
When in alarm mode, and I use the start button, the dash "comes alive"..meaning the tach energizes, security light turns on(and goes out)but doesnt crank.(It seems to go through the motions of starting, but just doesnt crank)
I have programed the rpm feature, and get confirmation it was accepted. I have verified I used the correct resistor to bypass the vats system.
What might I be overlooking here?
The car starts fine with the key.
Any help is very appreciated !!!!

Do you have the GREEN/ blue wire on the intellistart wired up after the starter kill.

No, I have the GREEN/ blue spliced on the ign wire. The alarm box has no ign cut off, that I am aware of.My box only has 2 RED / white wires for starter cutout. Should the GREEN/ blue go on this set of wires?

I am sorry I meant the the WHITE/ blue, this is the starter wire and must be connected after the starter kill on the alarm which is the WHITE/ red.

Yes, the WHITE/ blue is spliced in after the starter kill.

Have you tried remote starting it with the key JUST SITTING in the cylinder? Just to double check that it's not a VATS issue. Even though you may be sure, it's just a simple test so you can rule it out.

Yes, I did try that..think it was one of the first things that I checked.
DO you know if I have to set this thing up in "ready mode"?
My instructions dont mention anything about it, but I read here in the forum that some cliffords need this, especially if they have manual transmitions.I have my BLACK/ green wire on a good ground ( previously it wasnt, and got no action from the RS at all).
I'm going to redo my tach wire splice,also...maybe not getting 100 % contact.
