I have 2 12" 4 ohm DVC alpine type r's. I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX, I am using a Hifonics Brutus BX1000D to power the pair. Should I build a single enclosure, OR, should it be 2 seperate enclosures? And should they be sealed or ported? Also, if anybody has any ideas on how I should wire them please help me out.

Are you looking for a system that will set off car alarms or one that is for SQ (sound quality)?

You can either wire your subs for 1 or 4 ohms. If that amp is 1 ohm stable then you will get the most power out of it by wiring your subs in parallel (which presents a 1 ohm load on the amp). I would put them in a ported box with two seperate chambers (one for each sub).

Thanks. I've read about ported boxes and how there's certain ways and positions for the ports to "tune" them correctly, any idea on where to place the port?

The port should be on the baffle that the woofers are mounted too (the port needs to be mounted on the same board as the subs).
