About the Good Ground Connection - FYI

I wanted to comment on the thread about the good ground connection, but the thread is closed.
"Ground circuit resistance can also be checked by measuring the voltage drop across the circuit with a DVOM set on, the 2 volt scale. The voltage drop will be zero across a "good ground" circuit."
That is the crux of the biscuit. Any connection, whether gound or power, or any other mechanical connection, is best checked under load. The connection should always drop ZERO volts. And in order to insure that it is indeed a good connection, always check the voltage drop across the connection under load! For instance, if you suspect a power amp is not getting the proper power, test the connections with the system operating at high volume. The more current the device is pulling, the easier it is to see an unwanted voltage drop.
