This is on a 2005 gmc fullsize pickup.

I installed a prestige APS-996 and used the 456g and 555l.

The remote start works as it should, the truck starts with the key just fine. But regardless how the truck is started, the display on the cluster always shows the lock on the car symbol.  (my guess is the factory alarm is still engaged.)

I tried grounding a lead that was connected from the "light green wire in the driver door lock module" and the display still comes on.

Again, the truck starts fine, but the display still shows the lock on the car symbol.

Any ideas?

THANKS!

First thing, reconnect the rcode wire and see if the light persists. The light is more then likely a fault in the passlock system. If the light goes away then it sounds like there is something wrong with the 555L. What you should do is triple check all the connections, especially the ground. If that doesn't fix it then try resetting the system. Open the window, reach in the window and crank but don't start the car, leave the car sit for 20-30 minutes, come back and reach in and start the car. The light should go off if it is a problem with the passlock system.
