Just installed a Code Alarm remote start on a 2005 GMC Envoy. Now the check engine light is on. The light stays on when remote start is activated, and when started with the key.  I used the directechs.com wiring, checked all conections, still can't figure it out. Any suggestions?  Thanks.

did you remeber to hook up the second ignition wire in the vehicle

if this wire is not hooked up it will trip the check engine light and possible damage to the transmission can occur

I've had the light come on just by not hooking up both accessories even. I' suggest energizing all, pink, white, brown and orange.

Hello, thanks for the replies, I did hook up both accessories and both ignition wires. The only thing I did not try is finding a 3rd heater. Do you think that may be the cause? Also, once the problem is corrected will the light turn itself off or does it need to be reset? Thanks again.

it will have to be reset, usually removing the neg battery wire for about 30 mins

if that doesn't work you need a scan tool to remove it
