I bought this 3 years ago, thought Sony was good, I'm now finding out their stuff is crap.  The other day, the flip down display quit working, the buttons still work, but the lights and display are toast.  THought I would just work everything off of the flip up display and use the remote.  Then it started going out.  It will get fuzzy the quit working.  After a few flip ups/flip downs/flip ups, it will work again, but usually not the next time around.  Any clue on if this is fixable.  I really don't want to buy a new one, sony wants $160 for a trade or $120ish to repair.  Will any other headunits tie into a sony CD changer?  I don't want to have to replace that too, cause i'm not buying another sony.

The part you need is available for 13 dollars plus shipping from Pacific Coast Parts 1-800-421-5080         Part number is     168795211

Not saying this is anything you want to tackle yourself   but should be able to get it fixed for about 65 to 80 bucks

I found something that basically says I unscrew a few things, and plug this baby in, does that sound right?  Also, if the part is $13 why would it cost $65-80 to fix it?  Thanks!

I ordered both ribbon cables, and they should be here tomorrow.  I'll let everyone know how easy the install is.
