Help

HeyI have a question for all of you? I have a 2001 Tahoe that I have installed a rear camera, and added 6.5 monitor  installed into my console. I used a cheap Lanzar monitor unit. My question is the backup system works great as long as I turn on the monitor, hitting the power button on it everytime I am in reverse. My question is there a way that this can be changed so that when the truck is in reverse the monitor comes on without me having to push the power button on? Please help or even spread this question around as it would make my install on my truck complete. It is such a pain to go into reverse then have to push power on the Lanzar unit to see? What gives here?

Thanks for any and all your help?    Robert   vinylconcepts@hotmail.com

Use a relay, and have your reverse wire trigger the relay. Unless the Lanzar unit resets automatically. You can test it with a 12volt sorce. power and ground the unit. disconect the ground, wait a bit, then reconnect it. Does the unit power up, or do you need to push the power button?

I do have the monitor getting power from a relay that is triggered at the rear reverse light. As soon as I go into reverse I have to push power on the monitor then the screen is fine.I'll check the monitor. What if I still have to press the power button? Is there a way around it? I've also thought about interupting the monitor at the power button, meaning that if I have to push the button, I'd just disconnect the button and wire it from there bypassing the button all the way around?

Any suggestions? I do know my way around electronice pretty well but still haven't located another reverse source near the dash for this 2001 Tahoe. Maybe that would help too?

Thanks....Robert
