I need some help getting my remote starter working.

Vehicle: 2000 GMC Sierra SLE

Remote Starter:  DEI Valet 562T

Bypass Module:  DEI 1700G

I have it hooked up where I am able to get the vehicle to start BUT it immediately shuts off.

My questions are:

Do I need to have every wire on the 1700G hooked up to get it to work??  (I currently have the Red to 12v+, Black to Ground, Blue to Blue (-) output from 562T, and Purple to the Purple wire on OBDII plug)  Are there any other wires I need to hook up??  Can I get the factory door lock/unlock to work without tapping into each door?

Do I need to run a wire to the factory alarm disarm wire (lt green on BCM purple plug) ??  If so... which one?  I have tried the 562T's lt GREEN/ black wire hooked at the BCM and Dr. Kick panel ... but it didnt work.

I have my dashboard tore apart and would really appreciate the help so I can get things put back together.

On the 2000 Model GM trucks, the door locks are positive trigger at the BCM light blue for lock white for unlock in the brown plug. The data modules will not control the door locks in that model year truck. As indicated by the dot and not the X in the installation manual.
The factory alarm, as you have listed, is the light green in the purple plug at the BCM. To test it, put the key in the driver's door and turn it to unlock. The wire will go to ground when the driver's door switch is turned to unlock.
As far as programming for passlock bypass is concerned, follow the programming instructions, make sure you are on platform one and turn the key to the on position.

Well... i found out the problem myself.

The small 4 pin wire harness for the 562t was missing from the package that had the blue (-) output status wire I needed to hook up to the 1700G.

I stole the harness from my wifes remote starter in order to finish installing mine.   She'll have to wait for DEI to send us a new harness before I install her's.

The 562T has the second status/rear defogger blue/white in the H3 connector. Unless you are using it for a rear defogger output it would work just fine. Also, to expedite your wife's installation you could also use the pink or blue in the ribbon harness.

The blue wire in the 7-wire ribbon cable just passes its signal into the relay pack and straight out thru the 4 pin connector. If you are missing the 4-pin harness you can just tap into the blue wire in the 7-wire ribbon cable instead. I did it all the time back when I installed DEI because it can make for a neater install, depending on where you place the bypass module.

OK... thanks for all the help.  It is working correclty now.

I did want to add to this thread that I did get a CEL after remote starting.  I found this to be caused by the 2nd ignition wire (pink/white) not receiving power.

In order to fix this problem I found you have to connect the RED / WHITE 12+ constant (which is said to be ONLY needed if additional voltage is required by DEI).  After hooking it up I had no problems since.

Thanks for your help.

That reference to "RED / WHITE 12+ constant (which is said to be ONLY needed if additional voltage is required by DEI)." is from when the systems only included 2 power leads to the ignition harness with a RED / white jumped at the relay pack for power. In some cases you would need to separate the RED / white, add a fuse holder and supply it independently. DEI changed the design to incorporate the third fuse holder and dedicated supply. DEI has not updated their manuals to show that all 3 reds are required.
