noise, amp problem

so keep the RCA'S attached to the radio and do this for the amp end??

You can do it at the amp end but you will possibly have ground loop issues.  but for testing to see if it will fix your problem that will be fine.  If it eliminates 90% of the noise you will have to do it behind the radio.  You need to leave the RCA cable attatched to the amp and the radio.  Just touch the ground wire to the shiny part of the cable that you can see.  And yes this should fix your gain and bass control issue too.

was just wondering if this "humming noise" would blow my speakers??? or is it ok to play as is??  i tried wat u told me with both ends and it still had the noise in it so i guess it's the amp.

The humming noise won't harm your speakers.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
