I've come to the conclusion that my alt is going out -due to alt whine. I plan on swapping it out to see if that's the problem. It'll be a factory-replacement, as I can charge it to my account (it won't seem like it's coming out of pocket, at least until my check comes in...). 105amp.

What do you recommend, Bosch or NapaPremium? The Bosch is about $5 less, but the Premium is in town.

The Premium claims the recifier diodes are 50amp instead of the factory 35amp, and the rear bearing is 10mm instead of factory 8mm. The Bosch doesn't say.

Neither, get a real alternator that can actually support your system.

It does the job. I've been running this 12year old alt like this for awhile with no light or voltage issues.

Oh, and to mention. I don't use any accesories when i've got my volume up, so i'll stay away from a $250+ HO alt for now.

I would get the one with the longest warranty, considering they are very similiar in specs.

Oh, and are the higher rated diodes (50amp instead of 35) going to do anything? Maybe increase efficiency?

That I can't honestly answer, but an educated guess would lead me to believe they are more durable?
