2008 ford escape, dei 562t

I plan on installing a DEI 562t and have noticed that the Blue/Red 12 volt constant wire in this vehicle is smaller than on other cars I have installed an rs on. Is it ok to hook up both 12 volt constant inputs on this rs to this wire? I have located this wire in the wiring underneath the steering column.It looks identical in size to the Blue/Red wire at the ignition switch. I am going to use a Bypasskits XKO4 immobilizer bypass and was wondering if it should be wired the same as the 2007 models? The instructions I have only show the 2007 and earlier models.

Grab the power at the battery for this vehicle. I just did one the other day and I don't trust those tiny wires that Ford uses for power.Jeff

How did you route the wire through the firewall to get to the battery? Do you know if the immobilizer bypass wiring is the same as the 2007? Where did you locate a tach signal? Thanks!

There's the gromet that the hood release cable runs through the firewall. I just poked into that gromet and it was easy to run a 8 gauge wire through. The PATS wires are the same as all other newer Fords. The fuse should already be on the remote starter unit but if not, use 30 amps for each power lead.Jeff

Thanks! Did you use a 40 amp fuse on the 8 Gauge wire and where did you get the tach signal from?

No, I just used the supplied (2) 30 amp fuses on the remote starter, you shouldn't need anymore than these for fusing. Also the tach signal you can grab at the injectors or coils. Use the uncommon colored wires.Jeff

Does the lock and unlock on this car require anything besides the normal (-) outputs from the rs? I plan on being able to use both the aftermarket remotes and the factory ones to start the car. I will be connecting the rs activation wire to the car's unlock wire and set it for three pulses. Then have the rs lock the doors after ignition. That way the horn will not beep on the 2nd push of the lock button. Or is there a better way to activate the rs using the factory remote?

The lock & unlock only require a (-) pulse.Jeff
