Installed a new xk04 into a 2007 Lincoln Navigator only a few weeks ago after the previous modules were unlearned from vehicle anti theft system. DEI had stated that it was an issue they have heard about a few times. They told my boss to add a relay to the TX green wire from module. 87a and 85 to ground, 86 to ignition 12v+, pin 30 to car side of cut wire and pin 87 to module. Has anyone had experience with the same issue? I did a remote starter last Saturday in a 2006 Ford explorer and it came back in today with same issue. My boss from that job had a key in box installed by other installer and that fixed that vehicle.
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

xk04-pkford will not work on most 06+ ford vehicles, it needs to be reflashed to xk04-pkf3 and the blue wire then needs to be hooked up to ignition.

Will the xko4-pkford work on a 2008 Escape?

no, it needs to be reflashed as well.
I have stopped using the xk04 on new fords all together, and use the ads-tb-fm

iDataLink product advantages:

- The module records the entire learning process and operations
- The product works perfect on all TE Ford immobilizer systems including 2008 vehicles with smart keys
- If any difficulties would occur with the module there's an advanced debugging webtool offered on the Installer Helpdesk
- It's the only company offering the ability to clone the key from a past software
- It's the only company giving you a direct channel with their engineers true the Helpdesk
I invite you to try the iDataLink Products; www.idatalink.com/helpdesk
FYI Fortin website is www.fortinautoradio.com

Regards.

If you fail on your first attempt, at least destroy all evidence you tried!

I just got done on a 2007 Ford Escape and after trying everything, i just connected the brown "ground when running" of the XK04 to constant ground !!  ...  i think this bypasses the system fulltime but my remote start is an alarm also, sure this was my last resort but that is the only way i could get it to work....i think i could have tried other things but gave up after trying about 1,000 things already !!!  bypass module issue, 07 navigator -- posted image.

i just had a 2007 escape go south as well with an xk04. would the reflashing to a different firmware have solved this problem?
