Does anyone know the airspace on an earthquake DBX-10?  Appreciate any help.

Check out the Earthquake website. The specs on the newer DBX's are the same as the old ones. I emailed the tech people on their website and that's what they told me ( I was looking for the specs on my DBX-12's).

Do you both have the old black colored subs?

That's what mine are...

To the OP: are you planning on going with a sealed or vented enclosure? I have been wondering how these subs sound sealed; mine are in a vented box but I have been considering going sealed to decrease my box size and weight.

If you are going sealed, I would be interested to know how they sound when you get done.

To be honest with you, these subs sound better in a vented box. I have heard 1 DVC in a sealed and they werent as loud nor were they as punchy. I would love to get a double vented enclosure for mine. I have a pair of DBX 12" the single VC old black ones in a bandpass box. I love the way they sound but want to get a vented enclosure.

Yep, I have both of mine in a divided, slot-ported enclosure tuned to ~31hz and they really slam. I also have a subsonic filter set at 25hz and push them, wired paralell,  with a 800w rms mono amp. They are fairly punchy for being in a vented box, and I am very pleased with them SQ wise for what they are. Mine are the single 4ohm coils...

IIRC I started a thread a while ago with pics of my box buildup, I'll see if I can find it.

That is very nice. Did you design that yourself or use a program to help you out?

I used WinSD to get the port dimensions/box volume right, then I "engineered" the design of the box myself as far as port/driver placement goes.
